READING PANE AND VIRUSES

I have heard that if you have your reading pane on it makes you more
susceptible to viruses, because the reading pane is a form of opening the
email. Is this true?

Rubish for Outlook 2003/2007. (Whoever is telling you this is basing it on
old data. Outlook 98/2000 could be taken advantage of, but right around
service pack 2 for Office 2000, Microsoft became a whole lot smarter.)
