Rearranging Files

B

Bob L

My website has grown to over 600 files and I'd like to rearrange the file
structure to make it easier for me to keep track of the files. I've tried
using"cut" and "past" in file view (FP 2000) to do this and then republish
but that doesn't seem to work. What is the best way to do this?

I have never used Front Page 2000 but in Front Page 2002
you simply drag and drop files in the File View.

Don't use Cut and Paste
- just drag between Folder View (Web Site View) and Folder List, and confirm FP should adjust links

Hi Bob,

Thank you for posting.

From your post, my understanding on this issue is: You rearranged the file
structure on your website by using FP 2000. When you published it, it
didn't seem to work. If I'm off base, please feel free to let me know.

I used the following steps:
1. Open FrontPage 2000
2. Create a website
3. Copy and paste a large folder under this website
4. Rearrange my file structure by using "Cut", "Paste" and even dragging
files and folders in Web Site View and Folder List in FP 2000.

Then, the files and folders are moved to the correct place. it all works
fine.

So, please collect the following information to me to make further
progress. I appreciate your time.

1. What is the symptom of the issue?

2. If you encounter an error message, please let me know it in detail. You
may also capture a screen shot of it.

To capture a screen shot, please follow the steps below:

Step 1: When the error message appears, press the Pr Scrn key located at
the
top-right corner of the keyboard to capture a screen shot.

Step 2: Click Start, select Run, type MSPAINT in the Open box, and then
click OK.

Step 3: Use Ctrl + V to paste the screen shot to the canvas. When we are
prompted
to enlarge the bitmap, press Y or Enter.

Step 4: Click the File (or press Alt+ F) menu and select Save.

Step 5: Select Desktop in the 'Save in' box and type 'screen' in the File
name
box.

Step 6: Select JPEG in the Save as type box and click OK.

The screen shot is located on the Desktop and named screen.jpg.

Thanks for you comprehension.

Please let me know the information above so that I can provide further
assistance on this problem. I am looking forward to your reply.

Hope this helps!

Sincerely,
Jacky Gu
