Reassociating file types (.mat, .db) from Access and Paradox

I don't use Access or Paradox. But VISTA forces .mat and .db files to
associate with these programs. How do I take back control over associativity
for these types of files? I have other applications that open these file
types. Thanks in advance for your help.

Neither one of those file types are Access. You may want to ask this in a
Windows newsgroup, which will be appropriate to your problem. This newsgroup
is dedicated to the Microsoft Access database product. The Microsoft website
may have misdirected you.

..db files are not associated by default with Microsoft Access, but .mat files
are. What I would really like to do is remove Microsoft Access completely
from my system, but Vista doesn't seem to make that easy either.
Thanks.
