Rebuilding not reducing size below 50MB!

Hello,

I am trying to reduce the size of my folders. I have used typical
rebuild to reduce the size of my Entourage database. Even though ALL
my email folders/TASKS are empty rebuild only reduces down to 50MB.

During rebuild the message says 576 mail messages being compressed --
those don't exist. How can I really reduce the size of my folder?

I would create a Custom View to show all messages. Go to File -> New ->
Custom View (you need to click "Custom Views" in the Folder List first if
you're using 2001), and create one that looks like this
ITEM TYPES Messages
LOCATION All Folders ˆ Include Deleted Items
MATCH if any criteria are met
Category is None
Category is not None

Call it "All Messages" and then click OK. Then, with Mail selected, go to
Mail Views in Entourage X, or Custom Views in Entourage 2001, and choose the
"All Messages" view. You might see some messages appear that you didn't
know existed, like perhaps news messages you once downloaded. From there
you can delete or archive those messages. However, if they are indeed news
messages, you'll find you can't delete them. You'll need to empty the news
cache, following the instructions here:
