Recalling Tasks

BobK

I'm using Outlook 2003 on an Exchange Server.

I'm a manager and I assign a task to someone and they
accept it. They leave the company without the task being
marked completed. I wish to "recall" the task (similar to
recalling a message) and assign it to someone else. Is
there a way to do this? THANKS!

Unfortunately one someone accepts the Task then you haven't any control over
it as they are now the owner.

If you kept a copy of the task in your task list when you sent it out (by
checking the "Keep an updated copy of this task on my task list" check box),
you can open the task, and on the Details tab click "Create unassigned
copy." That will break the link between the copy you sent out and the copy
you kept. Then you can assign the task to someone else.
