Receive email problem

Hi all,

Entourage had a problem when receive email.
I see the status showed "message remaining to be received: 10" and then the
bar will hold on this status very long time.
So I quit Entourage and then open it again immediately, those 10 emails was
already download in the inbox.
I have to do this process every time when I see the status show " message
remaining to be received: ".
Is there anyway to fix this problem? Any idea?

What type of account? (POP, IMAP, Exchange)

If this is an Exchange account, try creating a new Identity in Entourage,
enter your account info and see if the problem goes away.

I'm using pop3 account.
I had checked with ISP, they said no problem on my account.

This is a strange one. I'm not sure this has ever been reported before so
bear with me as we try to determine what is causing the problem.

First, let's verify that your Identity is not the problem.

Under Entourage in the Menu bar select Switch Identities. Create a new
Identity. Enter your Account info and under the Options tab, select to
"leave on server" (important for the test so you mail is still available in
your main Identity).

If the problem goes away, then it's your Identity.

If the problem does not go away, the create a new User in System
Preferences. Entourage will open in a new blank Identity in a new User with
all clean preferences.Do the same test there.

Does the problem go away? If yes, then there is a problem in your User's
folder. If no, then we look to your base system files.

Let me know what you find.
