My laptop with MS Office Professional installed was purchased two months ago.
Over the last few weeks, messages received in Outlook that I have read,
deleted, and permanently deleted from Deleted Message folder are suddenly
showing up in my inbox. All messages received and deleted since January have
been received again. Does anyone know why this is happening?

Did you leave copies of them on the mail server? It's conceivable that if
you did, the UIDL cache Outlook keeps to make sure it doesn't multiply
download those messages has been damaged so that it doesn't know it hasn't
downloaded them before. If they have been saved on the server, use a web
mail interface (or http://www.mail2web.com/) to remove them from the server
or try creating a new mail profile and pointing it at your existing PST.

I did not intentionally leave copies on the mail server. How would copies
get on the mail server?

Open your mail account properties and examine the Advanced tab. There
should be a checkbox for "Leave a copy of messages on the server". If it's
checked, uncheck it.
