received pictures in mail appear as attachments

Hi I am wondering why pictures within a message show as attachment pictures
in my email.

If somebody sends me 6 photos, embedded in a email, they have to be opened
one at a time.

Because that's the way Outlook was written to work.

If you have to open them, then they're not truly embedded. The sender must
compose an HTML message and actually embed the files in the HTML.
