Receiving email

How do I set my email to download automatically using Outlook 2000, the pass
few weeks the only way I can get my email to show up in my inbox is to click
on the inbox icon and then all my emails download. I would rather see the
emails download as they come in.

Thank you,

Are you connecting to an Exchange server? If so, something is blocking the
UDP packets from the server that show you your new messages. What OS
version - are you using Windows XP and the built-in firewall? Or are you
using a software firewall?

I am on an Exchange 2000 server and using Window 2000 on the workstation, I
do have administrator rights to the exchange server, and how would I check
this?

Thank you,

Kathy

You don't check anything on the server.
Are you running a software firewall of any kind on the workstation?
Are you on a switch configured with VLANs or anything between your computer
& the server?
Any other users on the same network having this problem?

Yes, we do have a firewall is controll at the corp office. Do you think it
could be that?

I mean, is there any firewall between your computer & the server? Not
between the network & the Internet router.
Additionally, are you on an Ethernet switch configured with VLANs?

Hi,

No there is no firewall between the workstation and server. We are on
T1 lines.
Your internet connection isn't relevant. Are you sure there are no software
firewalls installed/enabled on any client workstation? And you didn't answer
my question about your switch...it isn't necessarily the problem, but it's a
possibility.

What service pack level are you using in Outlook (help | about , and what is
your client operating system version & service pack level? (control panel,
system).
