Receiving email

M

Mike

I use outlook to receive & send email. When I first open
up outlook and hit "send/receive" to download my emails,
I have to enter my username and password. As long as I
don't close Outlook, I don't have to re-enter this info.
Today, however, I entered the username and password,
hit "okay", and the window closed and reopened with all
the username and password. I rehit "okay" and the same
thing happened over and over again. I finally had to
reboot the system, and retrieved emails, but when I tried
to retrieve emails about 15 minutes later, the "enter
network pasword" window popped up.
What's going on?
I assume I'll have to reboot my computer to retrieve a
response.
Help!

When you get the message to enter your username/password, you should
check the where it says Remember Password, if you do this then it will
not ask you to enter it again.

The issue is that the password is not being retained in
teh password field. We need to delete a key in teh
registry that needs a support technician. The subkey that
needs to be deleted is a subfolder for password protected
storage key.

This will help the password stay in the password field.
Call for Microsoft support and that wil help you save
efforts

NO! NO! NO! DON'T DO IT! Never EVER allow your system to remember your
username or password. Repeat after me

"Hackers and crackers and freaks (oh my!)
Hackers and Crackers and Freaks - Oh my!
HACKERS AND CRACKERS AND FREAKS - OH MY!

This is such a huge security issue. Do not ever let your computer remember
your username or password.

There, now I'm done yelling at you. have a nice (secure) day ;-)

Mike, problem is not outlook. Contact your ISP. Their
server has a problem. Same thing happened to me with sbc.
