receiving mail confirmation, but not showing up in Inbox

My status bar shows that i receive messages, but they dissappear. They don't show up in my junk mail folder. If they did go to my junk mail folder, it's not set up to automatically delete them. This doesn't happen all the time though. I go thru every folder and nothing comes up. Any help would be appreciated.

You must be sharing a folder with someone and its updating the folder!
