Receiving Mail

We recently moved an employee from Outlook Express to Outlook to receive
emails. When they try to receive emails in Outlook 2000 the following error
message appears:
There was a problem logging onto your mail server. You need to enter a
password (Account: 'pop.biz.rr.com', POP3 Server: 'pop.biz.rr.com', Error
Number: 0x800ccc92)

Is this a setting that needs to be fixed in Outlook? or do we need to
somehow disable this email account in Outlook Express? We have tried going to
the properties section of this email account and entering a password. We then
type this password when prompted to do so upon opening Outlook, and we are
still getting this error message. Any advice?

Jessica,

I too have this problem. The way I solved it was kind of a workaround. I
have an Administrator profile set up on my pc. So I logged off of my profile
and then switched to the adminstrator profile and then started up Outlook. I
had to set up all the email stuff, pop3,smtp etc...but it worked fine. I
still don't understand why it works but it does. I think something in the
profile was corrupted when I upgraded to Outlook 2003.
