receiving messages automatically

Greetings:

I am having issues with Microsoft Outlook. If anyone can
provide me with some assistance that would be great.

-My Operating System is Windows XP
-My Microsoft Outlook Configuration is Internet Email.

My problem is when I click send/receive. It sends but does
not receive. To receive I have to manually click tools,
send/receive, then click on my profile name. Is there a
setting I can change so that it does both send and receive
at the same time.
