Receiving the same message twice

E

Eric

Running Outlook 2002 and Exchange 5.5 with all latest
patches and service packs.
When 1 user in particular responds to an e-mail with a
bunch of names in the To: and CC: fields another in
particular user has been getting the same e-mail twice in
her inbox.
Her address only exists once, there is nothing in the BCC:
field and there are no groups in this list of name that
might include her.
Any ideas?

I have been seeing the same thing once in a while but the
person sending the message was on outlook 2003 and the
user recieving the message twice was on 2002.

This happened to me. When I went into Outlook /Tools/e-
mail accounts/select "View or change e-mail accounts" and
select "Next", I saw that I had accidentally wound up
with 2 e-mail accounts with the same name. Eliminating 1
solved the problem. Hope this helps.

I have had this experience many times.

I tracked it down to the fact that 2 or more of
my "Message Rules" often applied to the 1 incomming
message.

The result was a message stored for each rule.

The cure for this is to select "Stop processing more
rules" when creating a rule or deleteing one or more
rules.
