Recent Trouble Opening Files in Office

This has started within the last couple of weeks. I try to click on a word or
excel file to open it and I get usually (but not always) get the same dialog
box:

" Windows cannot find ___________ (file name). Make sure you have typed the
name correctly and try again."

What I usually do is open a blank excel sheet and then use the open feature
from there to get to my files.

Has anyone else experienced something like this?

Yes, see my question posted 10/5 office program files very slow to open.
Hope someone knows what is going on.
