MRU says 9, don't use TweakUI.
I did discover, that the first file on the list was a file that I worked on in
my 'scratch folder'. All the files in this folder automatically get deleted when
I boot/reboot my system. I used the Ctrl+Alt+minus sign to get rid of this file
from the list. Now everything seems to be working OK. I've rebooted a couple of
times and the latest files I worked on are now appearing in the list as they are
supposed too. Hope this helps someone else who may experience the same problem

Have you checked under Tools, Options, General tab to make sure that the MRU
File list hasn't been set to zero?
The other usual suspect is that you are using TweakUI and have set the
History to clear on close option.
: For some reason, when I click on 'File' the Recently used file list is not
: saving/displaying the last files that I worked on. Have done Detect and
Repair
: no change. Is replacing the normal.dot the only other option I have?
:
: Using Office 2002 (XP) on Win98SE
