As of late, all my Office 2007 apps have lost all "recent documents"
listings, which were a real nice feature. I just get a blank, even though I
have gone to Options/Advanced/display and have set the entry to 10 in both
Word and in my Excel.

Can anyone point me toward getting this feature back?

Thanks!

Smart Computing magazine's tech support advised to use Office's "Repair" tool
which I did and the problem is fixed.

CORRECTION: Problem returned the following day. Subsequent investigation
showed that a utility I'm using (Advanced System Care Pro) was resetting the
Recent documents viewed to zero each time it ran.

ASOP's tech support advised me which command to turn off and all is well
with the world.

Hope this helps someone else.

Hi DanL, I am experiencing the same problem. What are the actual steps you
took to fix the problem?

BS:
Presuming you are also using ASC, here is a clip from their response, which
told me how to fix the issue. (It remains fixed, BTW, so it does work.

"You'd better un-select the items of scan for "Windows Recent Files" and
scan for "MS Office(97/XP/2003/2007)" under Privacy Sweep window of Options
button and don't forget to click "OK" at last."

Hope it helps/

Thanks DanL, I do not think I am using ASC - if it is an Add-On program - I
have not conciously added a program to the standard XP and Office 2007
software. I searched the Options Privacy section and could not find any
items that matched your post. I seem to think this occurred sometime early
last year after an automatic update and have hoped since that it would come
back again with another update.

I have had a complete reinstall of Office 2007 software since, even to
modifying the registry settings, so as not to reflect all previous settings.

Thanks for answering so quickly.
