Record Bound Chart

Using Access 2002:

I'm trying to create a record bound chart to show student assessment data
from one year to the next.

The table I have contains fields like this

Student name:...................
Year 9 Math score:...........
Year 10 math score:..........

and data for all students. I've set up forms to show this data, and also the
average math score for the whole group (so, the above plus Average Year 9
Score...., and Average Year 10 Score). What I would like to do is to show
thsi in a chart. A column chart would do.

I've nearly got there - but I can't show the student score *alongside* the
average to get the comparison I want. What I'd like is a bar for the Year 9
Student Score, next to a bar (in a different colour) for the Year 9 Average,
and then a bar for Year 10 alongside a bar showing the Year 10 average.

As far as I can work out, the chart wizard isn't letting me do this because
I want "no summarization" for some sets of data (the Year 9/10 scores), and
an average summarization for the other. Though I would have thought that
wanting to do this sort of comparison is not uncommon?

If there's a better newsgroup to ask this question, I'd be grateful to know.
I've got a few other issues with charts as well.....

TIA.
M.
