'record has been deleted...'

This message popped up when i tried accessing data in tables. This was an
attempt made using the datasheet view. First time this happened!
- Tried compacting it, but to no avail.
- Tried creating a new DB, so that the table objects could be imported into
this new DB from the problematic DB, but to no avail.

I had to get IT to restore data from the previous nite's copy.

Any ideas why i the data was not accessible??
