record naration

Hi,

Using the record naration option, I encountered bad quality recordings from
the Microphone input of my computer.
Apperantly electronic noise of my computer adds a lot of background noise in
the wav files.

I tried to use the 'line input' but I only can activate this input by 'alt
tab' to the record settings sound mixer after I activated record naration.

Does somebody know if it is possible to change the default settings of
record naration (default is microphone input, I want it to be Line input)

I would record your sound outside of PowerPoint. I use the software that came
with my sound card, and the effect's are not all that bad. definitely better
than the Record Narration function in PowerPoint.

Thx Michael,
actually that is what we do at the moment.
however, reconstructing the presentations takes a lot of time & $.

As a Meeting support company we sometimes need to process lots of
presentations.

I find that if I sit down, make all my recordings, then insert them from file
when creating the presentation, does not take any more time than trying to
record directly from within PowerPoint. FWIW

Paul,

The record narration within PowerPoint relies upon the Windows system
settings to select the input. Go to your Windows sounds and audio device
settings and select the input you wish to use. (line in for your sound
card)
