Recorded over audio notes by accident

I recorded over my audio notes in word 04 by accident and saved it without realizing my mistake. Is there a way to recover the original audio recording?

Only if you have "Always make backup" enabled in your Preferences.

That's what it is there for: it will protect you for next time.

This time, you will have to bring the previous version of the file back from
Time Machine or your backup program.
