recording pp presentation to cd

a couple of days ago i was able to save a powerpoint presentation to a cd.
now, for some reason, powerpoint is telling me that it can't find a recording
device attached to my computer. i've checked the control panel to make sure
my memorex recorder is working properly. it says it is. what do i do now?

Usually, the best way to record to a CD is to let your CD-recording
software handle the job rather than PowerPoint. If you are using Package
for CD, check the option to package to a folder rather than directly to the
CD. Then use your CD-recording software to burn the contents of that folder
to the CD. PowerPoint is inconsistent, at best, at burning directly to a
CD.
