Recovery from part of file is missing in Powerpoint fro Mac X

I can't open my powerpoint because I get the error message "can't open
because part of file is missing. How can I recover what is not missing (most
likely an equation from MathType5).

From the subject line it sounds like this is on a Mac. Is that correct? If so,
this is the PC group and a PC solution will probably not help. You can find a
