Recurring Access violation (msaccopt.exe)

R

Rob M.

Greetings,
We are continually experiencing problems with our scheduled MS Access 97
tasks.
The tasks are on a Windows 2000 Terminal OS and run code in a Windows script
file. This script file opens Access 97, logs in as an Admin user that has
full permissions, and runs a particular macro. The LAN ID used to run them
also has full permissions everywhere.
There are up to 4 or 5 tasks/jobs that can be running at the same time.
Each are running their own instance of the same database.
The tasks/jobs will occasionally hang but appear to be running. When you
view the processes in the task manager, the CPU usage for MSACCESS.exe is
zero.
We've occasionally been able to link this to error listed in the Doc Watson
log.
Here are what I assume are the main details needed:
****
Application exception occurred:
App: msaccopt.exe (pid=1928)
When: 7/6/2005 @ 10:47:15.674
Exception number: c0000005 (access violation)
****
1928 MSACCESS.exe
****
function: FEnumFuncParams
FAULT ->30203aa1 8b08 mov ecx,[eax]
ds:00000000=????????

We do have out own logging, however any errors that would help are not
showing up. I've been unable to search the web and find anything useful.
Is anyone able to shed some light on what is causing this doc watson entry
or why our access jobs are inexplicably hanging?

Any assistance would be GREATLY appreciated!
Thanks,
Rob M.

Sup Rob -

The first thing I would do is ensure that your network systems are fully
updated ( install all nesaccary patches ). Here is a link to MS (KB) I would
save this link as a favorite, it comes in handy form time to time.
