recurring appointments disappear from the calendar view?

Outlook 2002 SP3 -

This problem ocurred last year and the only solution I could find was to
start from scratch with a new 'personal folder'. It has happened again today
with this new folder.

My problem is as follows: We have a number of recurring appointments entered
into the calendar - things that ocurr on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.
Suddenly all of these appointments disappear from the calendar's
day/week/month view.

They can be seen if i go to "View' - 'Current View' - 'Recurring
Appointments', so I know they haven't gone missing altogether. They just
can't be seen in the Calendar view.

How do I get them to show in the Day/Week/Month view again?

See http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=958781.

No, I'm not syncing with any other program or device.

This is a basic 'stand-alone' installation of Outlook 2003 SP3 running on
Windows XP SP3. It's used as a calendar for appointments and the ocasional
email.

I have followed your links in other posts to 'reset view' and have tried
every method described, but still no luck. Nothing has worked yet.

As I said in my post, it is only the recurring appointments that have
disappeared and only from the day/week/month view. All of the 'one-off'
events are still visible.

Those symptoms are typical for the sync issue.

Do you have itunes installed?

Sorry Diane, no iTunes installed here (much to the receptionist's
disappointment).

Diane,

I am having the same issue. I do sync to a handheld (running WM 5.0) from a
desktop (Vista Home Prem/Office 2007) using Windows Mobile Device Center. A
few days ago, almost all my recurring appointments disappeared from the
calendar view in Outlook 2007, but are still there in 'by category' view and
all there on the PDA. The hotfix link in your previous answer looked to be
for Outlook 2003/ActiveSync issues. Is there a fix specific to the newer
versions?

Thanks

Another note, I also sync to an Outlook 2003/XP/ActiveSync computer at work
and that works just fine.

The hotfix is for Exchange server. At this time there is not a fix for
non-exchange accts.
