Recurring appointments disappeared

I'm using outlook 2003 and have set recurring appointments that remind me
every day to enter my milage for work. I open the appointment for the day
and enter my mileage in the text field of that appt. Today, I noticed that
all but the first recurring appointment has dissappeared from the calendar
view. If I click on personal folders - outlook today, the appointment shows
up, but in calendar view it does not.
Any ideas?

That's not a wise way to log mileage - the data in the recurrences can
easily be erased when you change the occurrence the next day. Use a
recurrance to remind you but create a new event for the actual mileage or
log it somewhere else - journal, notes, a post form in a folder called
expenses, excel...

is the first appointment still recurring? A recurring event is just one
event in table view that displays on the recurring dates in the
day/week/month view.

Hmmm... Let me see if I can rephrase this, there is information I would like
to be able to view, in the text field of a recurring appointment.
Unfortunately, none of the recurring appointments are showing up on the
calendar view of outlook (except the first one), they have disappeared.
Strangely, when I click on the personal folders icon, at the top of the mail
folders window, it brings me to a screen called "outlook today". On the left
hand side of the screen, there is a synopsis of my upcoming calendar events.
The recurring appointments that I am looking for, show up here, and I can
edit or view them. However, this view (synopsis), only shows the current 5
or 6 days coming up. I can't go back to view past entries.

Aside from the fact that using recurring appointments in this manner was a
bad idea, does anybody have any suggestions for me to be able to bring back
my missing recurring appointments?

You are looking for them in the day/week/month view correct, and in the
correct calendar? If they are in the outlook today calendar, they are in
outlook, somewhere. also - reset the view just incase a filter was set to
hide them.

You could export the calendar to excel then use excel's features to delete
the other appointments and import the mileage appointment. This will break
it into individual appointments.
