Recurring appointments forced to occur between 8am - 8pm

All my recurring appointments are forced to occur between the times of
8am-8pm. If I select 6am from the dropdown box for the start time on the
Recurrence dialog it immediately changes to 6pm. Similarly after selecting a
start time of 8pm the start time changes to 8am.

Non recurring appointments are able to be set OK

This problem does not occur on my laptop which behaves as it should.

Any ideas
