recurring appointments

From what I understand, if one cancels the recurring
feature for an appointment that had no final deadline,
then Outlook eliminates the appointment not only forward
in time, but all the past appointments as well. How do I
cancel the recurring feature for a specific appointment
starting from today on, while retaining all my old
calendars intact as they are (as a record of what I did
last year)?

If you go into the recurrence of the Appointment you should be able to set
an end date
