Hi
A lot of users in our company have deleted the Microsoft Document Image
Writer printer from their PCs and have now realised that they need it.
I have been tasked with putting it back for all users who have deleted
it.
As there are around 3000 users, I don't particularly want to tell our
PC support team that they have to go around each PC to do this
manually!!
The driver is still on the PC as it hasn't been uninstalled, just
removed.
I know that you can automatically "install" printers on PCs through a
login script using the rundll32 command, but I can't seem to work out
how to do this with the MODI - it just tells me that it can't find a
suitable driver. The installation instructions tell you to install it
with a generic driver at first, then change it to the MODI driver after
- is there a way that I can write a batch file to do this? IE install
it with the generic text driver and then change it? Or is there a way
to install it directly with the MODI driver?
Any help you can give would be very gratefully received!
(OS is XP SP2)
Thanks
Ruth
