Moving rpts from Access to Rptg Services

Today's stumper for me:
I would like for the detail page to show upon hitting the Submit button on
the bottom of the Edit page (instead of going to the update page). That way
the user can immediately see the results of their additions/changes.

Thank you,

Karen

You will need to hand code a "detail" page for them to review
- if you do not update it is not in the DB yet so they can't see it for your normal detail page
(which is probably from the DB)
Or send to Update page and from the update page call the detail page

Moving rpts from Access to Rptg Services

Just wanted to say thank you. I haven't had a chance to try it out because
I've had to change the web layout somewhat. This step should still be part
of it.

gotta go post another question in the meantime...sigh

Thanks, again.

Stefan, I sent you a question from a google thread but I was not sure where I
would be able to see your response. Im just wanting to know the correct way
to begin and allow edits and make changes to an Access db in Front Page. I
have several forms that need to be accessed by users in my company for
viewing and editing etc. Are there certain steps to take in a correct order
that will allow all of this to happen without constantly running into errors?
DIW? DRW? As I have stated before - I'm not a programmer but can make a
few changes that are obvious by looking at the code.

so tired of starting over....thank you,

Karen

Moving rpts from Access to Rptg Services

i've done that, believe me. We do not have Sharepoint so some of the options
are not available. I have imported the db, created pages using the DBRW and
DIW. I don't see detailed info on which i should be using to track forms for
editing and viewing by users with the information to be sent to the db. I
didn't see anything about how to make changes to the db and then reconnect to
FP and refresh the current forms with the new information (without having to
start over). I've been struggling with this for weeks now - I know it
shouldn't be so difficult...

Thanks,

Karen
