Redirected from tasks view back to homepage

Hello,

We are currently using MS Project 2003 and Project Web Access. I have one
user who is unable to view the Tasks center in PWA. Every time he clicks on
"Tasks" he is redirected to the PWA homepage. I found one possible fix on
the Microsoft website, however, that fix would have applied only if the issue
was occurring with all of our users and not just one. I think it could be
related to a setting on the user's computer, but I don't know which settings
to look at.

I would greatly appreciate any help with this matter!

Donna,
The first thing I would recommend, is that you confirm that no 'extra'
toolbars (Google isn't too invasive, but other ones can cause a problem) are
in use. If so, try removing them. It may take a visit to the sponsoring
website. The other option is to reinstall internet explorer.

Thanks to both of you for your responses.

We already verified that the project server is in the Trusted zone and that
the user authentication is set to automatic logon. I'm not sure what you
meant by "ProjectServer virtual directory in IIS has only Anonymous
authentication only if you are using Project Server Authentication." Can you
clarify where I might find this information?

Nicky - Our user has no additional toolbars installed, but will attempt to
re-install Internet Explorer

Dear Donna,

Ensure that MDAC 2.8 is inatalled on the client, this is the mail culprit
for these kinds of activities.

Else, delete the controls and reinstall them.

Donna,
One of the culprits of the "extra" toolbars that gets people into trouble
are pop-up blockers. These are available on the Yahoo and Google toolbars,
among others. It also gets installed if they apply XP SP2. If they do have
pop-up blockers installed, make sure it's set to allow pop-ups from your PWA
server.
