Reduce the time to send a document to a printer?

I have recently upgrade to Office 2003 and have found that the time taken for
a document to be sent to a LAN printer has greatly increased (by minutes).
How do I amend the settings to reduce this time?

You may want to check for more recent versions of the printer drivers
you are using. With a correct setup, the documents are normally in the
printer out tray in the time it takes to walk over to the printer.
