Reducing size of HTML emails when saved in plain text format

I convert all my emails to txt format in Outlook when I archive them. I
archive up to 5000 emails a year and I have records of all my emails going
back 10 years.

In the past, HTML files used to shrink to 2 or 3 Kb size when converted to
txt format. Nowadays, a 15Kb HTML formatted email will probably only shrink
to 10 or 12Kb.

Is there some tool I can get, or some switch I can activate, that will
shrink these HTML formatted emails when I convert them to plain text format?

TIA,
