The Database Refresh tool is used in conjunction with shapes/drawings that
have been linked to databases using the older Database Wizard which ships
in all versions of Visio (including Standard). That wizard can be used to
created linked shapes and linked drawings through ODBC to several data
types, and has been in Visio since at least version 2000.
The newer Visio 2007 Link to Database features found on the Data menu are
mainly functional only in Visio 2007 Professional. The features such as
Link Data to Shapes, Automatically Link, and Refresh Data on the Data menu
are unique to Pro 2007.
