I don't see new messages in my Inbox until I click away to another folder in
Outlook. Then I get a new mail message indicator. Otherwise, I have to wait
a few minutes before Outlook refreshes with Exchange.
Same thing happens with Outbox mail. I send a message and it goes into the
Outbox. It's already been sent but still shows in the Outbox until I click
the Outbox to refresh it or wait a few minutes for it to refresh.
My computer is running Windows 2000 Server. I have Exchange Server 2000 on
the same computer and Outlook 2003 on the same computer -- it's all running
on one computer.
I have it set up that Outlook is polling e-mail from my ISP's POP3 mail
server, and downloads it and stores it in the Exchange mailbox. I do not use
Exchange for incoming or outgoing mail -- just as mailbox storage (so I can
synch with it from my laptop).
My computer is a Dell Dimension XPS-R400. I have only one NIC card
installed.
This is a very annoying problem which I've been putting up with for too
long. I hope someone has a solution or just some ideas.
