Office 2007, Win XP Pro SP3. We may have some bad registry entries. Can
anyone give the name of safe registry cleaner?

There isnt such, in any case what makes you think there are bad entries, and

There is NO such animal as a safe Registry cleaner. They are all snake oil remedies.
Left over reg entices bad or good will not cause any trouble and removing reg
entries will not sped up or create more space on your computer. Playing with the
registry can only cause problems. Leave it alone

Why do you think there are bad registry entries? What are the symptoms you
are seeing?

Thank you all for confirming my thoughts. In any event our problem is that
we cannot enter maintenance mode and we cannot install the recent PowerPoint
security update. We think we can do an uninstall however, just wanted to
find if possible, a less drastic way around doing that.

(I tried the uninstaller and it did start, but I canceled it. But I suppose
it could barf as it progressed>)

I should have added to my previous reply that when looking for something in
the Registry I came across several entries with the phrase "Invalid DWORD".
