REGARDING THESE FORUMS

David Cleave

Hi

I've noticed if I try to reply to a message or rate a response, and I'm not
signed in, it takes me to the sign in page but does not redirect me back to
the appropriate post from there.

This is frustrating and usually means I do not bother to reply or rate the
response, which diminishes the effectiveness of the forums.

Can anything be done about this?

Cheers

The best solution is to use a newsreader instead of the web interface.

Outlook Express is capable of doing this. Go to:
Tools | Accounts | News | Add
and add the server:
news.microsoft.com

The subscribe to the groups that interest you.
You can view the message threaded, and easily track threads.

I agree, Allen, when it comes to reading and replying to posts -- a
newsreader program is much more efficient and easier to use. However,
you can't rate posts except by using the web interface. I think David
Cleave's complaint is well taken, and we can hope that the Microsoft
people in charge will correct the problem.
