Registering actuals

Hy, I am new to project server and i have entered some projects. Now i would
like to enter the actual work for my tasks.
However, the actual work fields to enter on a specific day are protected for
some projects ? It is only possible to enter the total actual work field in
the table.

If you are using managed time periods in your Project Server environment,
then your team members must enter Actual Work on their timesheets in Project
Web Access. Hope this helps.

In fact, that is exactly the problem. If a logon using the credentials of a
team member on the PWA. Next I go to the tasks tab. Fot some tasks I can
enter the actual work each day in the right (calender) part of the table.
For some other tasks however, i cannot enter a value for each day
seperately, i just can enter a total amount of actual work in the left part
of the table. The fields in the calender are grayed out.
Do you have an idea how this is possible ?

Your problem in the View my tasks page indicates that your projects are not
all using the same method of tracking progress. You should ask your Project
Server administrator to "lock down" the default method of tracking for your
organization in the Admin section of PWA. Once he/she has done so, then
each project manager will need to open every project and click Collaborate -
Publish - Republish Assignments, and then click OK. This will "push" the
correct method of tracking to every user's timesheet in PWA. Please note,
however, that this procedure will impact only unstarted tasks. Any
uncompleted task with actuals will retain the old method of tracking until
it is completed. Hope this helps.
