Reinstall without disks?

I just upgraded from Office 2000 to Office XP. I didn't realize the upgrade
would overwrite Office 2000. Can I still find 2000 somewhere and
reactivate/reinstall it? If not, I no longer have the install disks so is
there another way to install (download for example)? I just want to revert
back to 2000 and not have to pay for another version.

What's wrong with Office XP?

Unfortunately no disk, no install!

The next issue you may have is to find a version of Office 2000 that matches
your activation key. As it is the activation (license) key that is
important, if you can find an installation disk cheap or borrowed to make a
copy then you can use your original license to install it. If the version
was Office 2000 Small Business that was an OEM version that was only sold
with new computers. Any other version would be retail as either an upgrade
or full install version.

So how did you upgrade to Office xp, since neither offfice xp or office 2k
is available as a legal download

That's easy, O2k was already on the machine, and had been there for a long
time.

He found an upgrade copy of Office XP somewhere and did a bootleg install.
Maybe the previous machines had all expired and the install was legal. We
simply do not know the answer to that one.

At the end of the day, Office XP is loaded now, and Office 2k was
overwritten.
