Reinstallation strategies for Entourage X

Entourage X has recently started giving me an "Entourage has
unexpected quit" message when I'm dragging messages from the "Sent
items" pane to a sub-folder in the "On my computer" folder pane. This
is chronic.

In addition, the "Sent items" pane is now filled with the horizontal
lines of the Entourage interface background. This leads me to believe
that the program is corrupt and I will eventually need to re-install.

Where do I go for strategies on reinstalling Entourage in such a way
that I maintain my calendar entries (which extend through the end of
the year), as well as all of my project-specific email in the
database? Is there a knowledgebase article on re-installing Entourage
that I haven't found yet? Has anyone done this successfully?

Help would be appreciated!

I would consider rebuilding the database file of Entourage. See the below
