Reinstalling Access 2002

Julian

I am trying to install access 2002 on a new laptop but after I have input the
product key it comes up with an error message - "Cannot find a Qualifying
Product". I suspect the problem is that it was an upgrade version and whilst
I have a full version of Office 2003 installed my Access 2002 does not
recoignise it. Any suggestions please?

A NEWER version of Office is not a "qualifying product" for an upgrade. You
need to own an older version or you cannot use an upgrade version.

Normally the older product does not have to actually be installed. Just
inserting the older version's install CD is enough to satisfy the upgrade disk.

I think MS changed that for Office 2007. Now a previous version has
to be installed.
