Reinstalling Groove 2007

D

Don

1) I have to reinstall Groove 2007 on a Vista Business machine. Other than
uninstalling from Control Panel, are there any other files on the machine
that need to be deleted manually?

2) When I reinstall, how do I transfer the same person's Groove Identity
back on to the new installation?

THanks.

Hi Don,

If you uninstall the Groove application, you will leave all your groove
account and data intact. If you reinstall groove, your account and space
data should be available. If you want to remove all Groove data for your
uninstall, you should first log into your groove account prior to uninstall
and go to Options > Preferences > Account and delete the account form the
computer. Then you should delete these folders:

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\Groove

C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office\Groove

C:\Users\username\Documents\Groove Workspace Templates

This will remove the files from your computer after uninstall.

In order to restore an account, you first must have a backed up account file.

Before you uninstall, go to options > Preferences > Account and select Save
This Account as a file.

Save the file and you can use this file for when you reinstall Groove.
Please note that this will not save your spaces, just your account data.
Therefore after restoring an account, you will need to fetch the spaces from
other active computers that has the account or from other Groove users.
