Reinstalling Home/Student office 2007

i had to reinstall windows on my computer because viruses corrupted my c
drive so of course i lost everything i had saved including office and word.
office was only a trial size so how do i install the full version? i have to
go buy it dont i? and microsoft word as well right?

well Whitetiger....you could download another trial copy for now. all the
office suites and all the office component programs are offered in for a free
60 day trial by microsoft

after that you'll have to buy the full version since apparently you no
longer have any qualifying program for the upgrade (if you did previously).
if you do have one of the qualifying programs on cd, you could install that
so you would save some real money on the upgrade version. see the pricing
page for the list of those qualiers.

also, word is part of any of the office suites, so you needn't buy it
separately also.

a late thought: it's possible that microsoft won't let you download the
*same* trial version that you had, but a different version should be
possible, and/or different separate program components.

Right now is a good time to get the Home/Student edition too. Many stores
are offering this version cheap as part of their back to school sales.

that's true. good point.
it's a back to school special thru iirc 30 sep2008. even better, imo, the
bts special is including also office 2007 small business version.
for example, at amazon home and student full version (no upgrade available)
is only 84.99US$, while the much more complete small business is a great
149.99US$ for the upgrade version. at microsoft, the prices are H&S 109.95;
and for small business,189.95 for upgrade and 243.99 for full version.
