Reinstalling Office Standard 2007

This is more in anticipation of a problem!

I visited a client this morning who was having all sorts of problems with
their Acer PC. Finally, with ACER Support's advice, we decided to format the
hard drive and reinstall XP Pro. No problem there and all activated just fine.

In 2007, my client purchased Office 2007 Standard licence and installed on
their PC, of course this has been lost and I now need to reinstall Office
2007 Standard.

Problem:
We can't find the installation CD but we do have the product key.

Is it a simple matter of downloading the package and then using the product
key previously used in 2007?

The download process provided me with a trial product key. Which should I
use when reinstalling, the trial key or the one purchased in 2007?

Many thanks

John

You don't want to do anything with a trial version. You'll need to get the
appropriate software and use the existing key.

Thanks for the reply Tom

I am quite sure that when I purchased Office 2007 for my client, I was given
an installation CD that allowed me to install the software on a trial basis
PLUS, I had to pay for the appropriate product key.

The CD was used for several installations with a different product key being
used/purchased to remove the trial time limits.

So what I actually purchased was product keys for each installation.

The original Product Key purchased for this particular PC doesn't work with
the trail downloaded from Microsoft but at least the product key provided
when I signed up for the trial downloadit gives me 60 days to sort something
out.

Cheers

Just trying to reach back into my memory bank!!!

As I supplied the PCs from new, the Office 2007 package might have been for
installation on new PCs only and NOT a trial version.

Sorry for the confusion!

Still seeking a solution though!
