Reinstalling Office XP on new computer

R

RC in Keller

I have Office XP Standard for Student and Teachers (Ver 2002). I did an
uninstall from my daughter's old desktop and tried to install it on her new
laptop. No go. I get a message that says the copy is installed on another
machine. It is also installed on my wife's desktop, but we've been using it
on two computers since the original installs. What can I do?

Hi,

Depending upon the version of Office XP you are using, you may be able to
install it on a second computer. Office XP for Students and Teachers
includes a license to use the software on a single computer.

So it is illegal to use one copy on two pcs. Note that Office 2003 Standard
for S&T may be used on up to 3 computers, but XP does not.
