Reinstalling Word

I am having trouble reinstalling Microsoft Word, which was lost after a
system crash, on my APTIVA...I have tried to use the recovery and diagnostic
CDROM that came with the system...but to no avail...I am currently running
Windows XP, is the Microsoft Word application lost for good or is there some
way to reinstall it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated...thank you.

Word may not have been part of that disk. Check back with who sold you
the computer. I suspect they did not give you the disk for the Word
re-install.
