Hi guys

Is there a shortcut of any sort to convert a relative value to absolut
without having to individually edit the cell.

Many moons ago I used to be able to do it in Symphony with a functio
key, but have not been able to find if it is possible in Excel.

I am using Excel 2003 XP

Thanks in advanc

When you're editing a cell reference you can press F4 to cycle through the
combinations of relative and absolute. You can change a range of formulas
with a macro but it would have to be tailored to your situation. And you
could do a Find/Replace, e.g., A1 to $A$1.

tghcogo, in Excel it's the F4 function key. Select the cell, click the cell
reference in the Edit bar, and press F4 to toggle through all the
possibilities (relative, absolute, mixed).

Or you can double-click a cell, click the cell reference, and press F4.

Or ... you can select the *entire* formula in the formula bar (or cell),
and change *all* the references with a single click!

Thanks for the info,

I tried all the function keys before, and searched the help files to n
avail, my mistake was not to be in edit mode. You've just made an ol
man very happy!!!
