This is a really dumb question but when was the actual release date of Office
Suite 2002? Was it sept 15th 2001?? I would think that this info would be
easy to stumble on but I must be looking in all the wrong places. If anyone
could help me I would appreciate it.

What a quirky question. Normally I would just ignore this or tell you that
it's outside of the scope of this newsgroup but I'm in an odd mood today.

Technically there is no such critter as "Office Suite 2002". Apart from
that...........let me see if I can find anything.

Well, I've found:
REDMOND, Wash., Feb. 28, 2001 - Microsoft Corp. today announced a corporate
preview release of Office XP, the new version of Microsoft® Office, the
world's best-selling desktop application suite.

REDMOND, Wash., March 5, 2001 - Microsoft Corp. today announced that
Microsoft® Office XP, the new version of the world's leading office
software, has been released to manufacturing and will be available for
retail purchase later this spring.

REDMOND, Wash., April 2, 2001 - Microsoft Corp. today kicked off its most
extensive trial program ever for an Office product, giving individuals the
opportunity to test-drive Microsoft® Office XP before acquiring, for the
first time.

and finally
REDMOND, Wash., May 21, 2001 - As Microsoft® Office XP heads to retail
stores next week, customers are signing up by the thousands to get a look at
the revolutionary new version of Office. Office XP will launch on May 31 at
more than 100 launch events in the United States between May 31 and June 2
and several hundred additional launch events worldwide over the next few
weeks. As part of the launch festivities, Microsoft Corp. executives,
including Bill Gates and Steve Ballmer, are fanning out around the globe to
show off the most significant version of Office ever released.

Looks like you missed it by 4 months.
