remaining work discrepancy

We're using timesheets to track the hours worked on each task during each
time period with non managed periods. We're starting to use a third party for
Project Server 2003 reporting. The new reports show that the data matching up
well with the exception of just a few projects from one report displaying
different remaining hours (MSP_ASSIGNMENTS.ASSN_REM_WORK) than what is listed
from PWA-Project Center and Project Pro. The projects in question have been
synchronized by republishing and overwriting actual work.

Any suggestions for the cause of the discrepancy? Corrupt schedules/data?

Is it possible the project manager of these projects entered actuals
manually in the Microsoft Project plan and do not republish the assignments
with the "Overwrite actual work entered by team members" option selected?
That would explain both the discrepancy and why the republish procedure
solved the problem. Hope this helps.

Thank you for your response. However, I'm sorry I wasn't clear.

The republish/overwrite procedure did not resolve the problem. Following the
procedure, the data I see in MSP_ASSIGNMENTS.ASSN_REM_WORK and remaining work
in the project schedule (from Project Pro and PWA-Project Center) are
significantly different. Any ideas why that might be?
