Hi
No. First I had XPpro and OL2k and had no problems then I got OL2002.
Funny thing is that I recive the e-mails OK even when the "asking for password
window" is open (the e-mails is rolling in behind the window) - so it seems to be
without reason the asking for password, just very annoying

Have you tried creating a new outlook profile via the mail applet in the
control panel and use that new mail profile? (don't delete the old. just
leave it be and create a new one. lets see if there is some weird
caching/corruption going on in the registry.)

Hi and thanks a lot for your concern.
I created a new profile and to the best of my knowledge it worked without "asking".
Then I renamed the new .pst-folder (called outlook2.pst to outlook2.pst.old and
renamed the old outlook.pst to outlook2.pst and reboot - so I have all the old stuff
back, see?) and after doing a little testing everything is fine "without asking for
password" :))
Thanks for your advise!
(by the way what is the problem??)

Does the problem happen under a new operating system userid/profile?

Not really sure, but creating a new profile sometimes clears really odd
issues like this.
